Description

Our client, a leading and award-winning asset manager, is looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to join their Retail Sales division in London.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and results-oriented sales professional to make a significant impact on business growth whilst developing strong relationships with a wide network of financial advisers.

The Business Development Manager will take responsibility for the following duties:

  • Building and nurturing strong relationships with financial advisers

  • Identifying new business opportunities through a range of channels including cold calling, marketing leads, and industry events

  • Scheduling meetings for the Senior BDM via telephone, Zoom and Teams

  • Managing and updating Salesforce CRM to reflect activity, pipeline, and progress across the region

  • Acting as a client champion, focusing on retention and exceeding quarterly sales goals

  • Delivering impactful meetings and presentations to advisers, showcasing the firm’s value proposition and product offering

  • Using data and insights to manage pipeline effectively and ensure accurate conversion tracking

  • Collaborating with internal and external sales managers to identify and drive new growth opportunities

  • Staying up to date with market regulations, product knowledge, and competitor landscape to influence stakeholders effectively

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skillset:

  • A proven track record of exceeding sales targets in a business development capacity

  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and confident in taking initiative

  • Clear and articulate communicator, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences both written and verbal

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust with financial advisers

  • Ambitious, driven, and resilient with a hunger for success

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset

Desirable:

  • Background or interest in financial services

  • Experience using Salesforce CRM

  • Completed or working towards professional financial qualifications (e.g. IMC/RO)
