Equity Research Analyst – UK Small Cap

Our client, a prestigious investment management firm is looking to hire an equity analyst to cover small cap UK equities. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded team with a flat hierarchy and opportunity to be involved in the full investment decision-making process. The role will involve providing investment recommendations in the UK smaller companies universe.

Main Responsibilities include:

• Conduct detailed company analysis on a broad range of fully listed small cap UK equities, writing research reports and company meeting notes
• Make investment recommendations to the Fund Manager and help monitor existing holdings in the portfolio
• Develop financial models to forecast future financial performance and valuation analysis
• Monitor news flow and industry research which includes analysing earning releases, annual reports and accounts
• Attend company visits and industry conferences

Preferred candidate will have:

• Minimum 3-4 years’ equity analysis experience on the buy-side or sell-side
• Preferably a detailed knowledge of UK stocks
• Advanced Excel and valuation modelling experience
• Passionate investor with the interest in understanding how companies works
• Proactive and flexible mind-set  to work in a dynamic environment with traditional businesses, new technologies and disruptors vying for investors capital
• Ability to communicate effectively with management teams in a professional manner and engage in strenuous investment debates
• Strong team player and hard working
